I contributed volunteer work in the school audio/visual department. My routine tasks included the preparation of closed-circuit programming, assistance in the installation of a school-wide multiplatform token-ring network, cataloging and organizing media, setting up audio/visual components of presentations, and training personnel on the use of hardware and software systems.

I worked on a self-employed basis on various projects around the tri-county area. Projects I was requently involved with include setting up a local area network for a legal organization and tutoring college students for computer-related education. My online projects included contract work for HTML development and minor Common Gateway Interface solutions for web-based applications which led to full-time employment.

I held the position of Senior Programmer and Senior Project Manager working full-time via telecommuting over the Internet. My tasks included planning and development of web-based applications for UNIX-based web servers. These applications included e-commerce transaction software and perhipheral add-on modules, a sophisticated shopping cart system, custom low-level database design and implementations, an online live operator-assisted customer support system, limited-access membership control systems, and various recreational programs such as chats, bulletin boards, and games.

My current title is "Software Developer", though my repsonsibilities also include such things as maintining server applications, software installation and upgrade, system integration, data mining, and DHTML web development. My primary projects involve full design and implementation of low-level image processing, large-scale data conversion, and casual website maintenance. Through the course of my employment here, I have had experience with successfully handling intense deadline requirements, 80 hour work weeks, 24/7 network monitoring pager responses, and even a couple of >24 hour work days.

I have extensive experience with low and high level development and integration with Convera's RetrievalWare search engine, Apache, Tomcat, Resin, Eclipse and Forte. I have a strong familiarity with the use of the following applications: MySQL, CVS, VMware, pcAnywhere, Remote Administrator, SourceSafe, Benthic Golden/GoldView, Microsoft Office, Netmeeting, FrontPage, Powerpoint, Adobe Premiere, Mozilla, WordPerfect, Macromedia Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Paint Shop Pro, Cool Edit, Audiograbber, Nero, FlaskMPEG, VirtualDub, TMPEGEnc, and Maya. I have extensive experience with common desktop/laptop PC hardware including USB, SCSI, ATAPI, PCMCIA cards, memory upgrades, drive installations, video cards, sound cards, power supplies, motherboard wiring, CPU installation, cooling fans, tape libraries, audio/visual equipment, page scanners, UPS devices, digital cameras, home automation, ethernet hardware, and Palm devices. I routinely build and configure my own computers from basic components.


I am a "geek". I am very self-sufficient when it comes to computer knowledge. I can quickly pick up new languages and learn to navigate new applications. I have strong logical skills and a personal interest in electronics, physics, and technology in general. I can quickly and independently find solutions to problems without assistance. I work most efficiently alone, but I also have extensive experience in collaborative problem solving. Finally, My salary expectations are humble compared to industry standards.
